In the Mudgee Region, we believe in fostering accessibility so everyone can thrive in a community that is inclusive, safe, and supportive. Whether you are a family member, caregiver, or individual living with a disability, the Mudgee Region offers a range of services, facilities and resources to help you meet your needs.
They include however are not limited to:
- Registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) providers (such as the Mudgee Disability Support Service Inc) offering tailored support services to individuals and families.
- Rural Nursing Services (who offer disability care).
- Mudgee Health Service, Gulgong Multi-Purpose Health Service, and Rylstone Multi-Purpose Health Service.
- Benevolent Society.
- Supported employment opportunities with Mid-Western Regional Council.
- Support Groups and networks that provide a sense of community and connection for families and individuals.
- Accessible tours and activities at Mudgee Arts Precinct.
- Mudgee Business Inclusion Directory (by Lifeskills Plus).
- Accessible recreational opportunities and inclusive playgrounds such as the Rylstone Showground and Kandos (Rotary Park) Inclusive Playspaces.
- Increased pathway infrastructure to enhance physical access to public spaces, such as ramps at swimming pools.
- Accessible movie screenings at Mudgee Town Hall.
- Wheelchair-friendly parks including Roberston Park Mudgee (features a Liberty Swing).
- Sporting grounds – the Glen Willow Regional Sports Complex, Walkers Oval Mudgee, Victoria Park Mudgee, and Billy Dunn Oval Gulgong, feature disabled amenities and access.
- Mudgee Community Transport and Rylstone District Care & Transport Inc.
- Meals on Wheels services.
- Mid-Western Regional Council Access Committee (provides the community the opportunity to have their say on matters relating to disability access and inclusion).
- Schools that cater to children with diverse needs, providing tailored educational programs and dedicated support staff. Mudgee Public School has a Special Education Support Unit which caters for children who have a wide variety of learning needs.
